Against Deep Poverty:

A Rights-Based and Multidimensional Approach

The Open Space Association defines deep poverty not merely as a lack of income, but as a multidimensional state of poverty where access to a dignified life is severely restricted and fundamental rights are violated. Within this framework, it conducts fieldwork, research, and advocacy activities to reveal the invisible dimensions of poverty, emphasize that poverty is a human rights violation, and develop rights-based solutions. Centered around social justice, gender equality, human rights, and children's rights, it aims to support the empowerment and resilience of individuals, helping them break the cycle of poverty. By combining solidarity models with long-term social policies, it carries out its work against deep poverty through a rights-based and multidimensional approach.

PROGRAMS

The work of the Open Space Association is carried out through four main programs:

Monitoring, Advocacy, and Campaign Program

It aims to put pressure on decision-makers and ensure the implementation of rights-based policies by bringing poverty and human rights violations to the public agenda. It advocates through poverty research, field observations, and briefing notes.

Local Governments Program

Support and Social Solidarity Program

It meets the basic needs of individuals experiencing poverty through social solidarity and enables their empowerment. It organizes workshops and awareness-raising activities regarding psychology, health, law, and access to public services.

Institutional Capacity, Visibility, and Resource Development Program

Institutionalization efforts are carried out to ensure the sustainability of the association. Transparency and accountability processes are implemented, and strategies are developed to strengthen the organizational structure.
